We chose an ideal day to visit Attingham Park yesterday, although it was cold, the cloudless blue skies and bright sunshine made it an ideal day for a walk.
We arrived at lunch time and the car park was just about full but we squeezed into an empty space and headed off to the cafe (busy) for a quick spot of lunch (spicy mixed bean one pot, very tasty) before going into the house to see it decorated for Christmas. The rooms were decorated with magnificent Christmas trees and beautiful flower arrangements. The Christmas trees were really good and some had very unusual decorations; we laughed to see one decorated with berries, feathers and antlers! Whoever was behind the trees and the flower arrangements is really to be commended as they were stunning.
After our trip around the house, it was time for a walk. We headed off to walk across the deer park to find that we had timed it just right as they were feeding the deer and we were able to get up quite close to the herd.
Feeding time over we continued on our circuit through the park and the wood looping back to the house just as it was getting dark.
All in all a lovely day out which we both thoroughly enjoyed.
